Install apps from the store
Pick apps on the car's screen and install them in one go, including Google Play apps like Waze.
You need: the car with LocalStore on it, connected to Wi-Fi or your phone's hotspot.
1. Pick your apps
- Open LocalStore on the car's screen. The App store card lists what's available.
- Each app shows where it comes from and whether we've tested it on the EX2. Tap Refresh if the list looks out of date.
- Tick the apps you want and tap Install selected, then confirm.
2. Apps we host (like Firefox)
Nothing else to do. LocalStore downloads each one, checks it against our signature, and installs it. The status line at the top shows progress.
3. Google Play apps (like Waze)
- If Aurora Store isn't on the car yet, LocalStore installs it first, automatically.
- Aurora Store opens on the app's page. The first time, it asks how to sign in: anonymous works fine.
- Tap Install in Aurora Store.
- Installs are allowed for 3 minutes, then locked again. If the time runs out, tap Install selected in LocalStore again.
"A copy signed by someone else is installed" means the car already has a different build of that app, for example from another store. Remove it under Installed apps first (this deletes its data), then install again.
See the full list of apps, with each app's own page and status.
