Features

Everything you get, on one page

Every feature of LocalStore and your account that works today. Fleets means accounts set up for a business; everything else is for everyone, households and fleets. Some actions are for an account's owners and admins only.

Apps on the car

LocalStore is the app store on the car's own screen.

FeatureWhat it doesFor
Google Play apps Installed through Aurora Store, with a one-tap fix when an app says it isn't compatible. Everyone
Apps we host Installed and updated by LocalStore. Every file is checked against its signed fingerprint first. Everyone
Tested on the EX2 Each app is marked tested and working, testing next, or doesn't work yet, with a star rating. Everyone
Automatic updates LocalStore and our hosted apps update themselves, only while the car is in Park. You can switch it off. Everyone
Send an app to the car Pick an app in your account and it installs on the car, or waits for a tap on the screen. Everyone
Restore my apps Backups of your app list. If a head-unit update removes apps, one tap puts them back. Everyone
Head-unit update alert An email when Geely updates the car's software, so you know to check your apps. Everyone
Ask for an app From the car or the website. Requests decide what we test next. Everyone
Remove anything Every app LocalStore installs can be removed from the same screen, and so can LocalStore. Everyone
Drive page Your saved places on the car's screen: one tap starts navigation. Everyone

Remote control

From the Control page in your account, on a computer or your phone. The car needs to be awake and on Wi-Fi or a hotspot: the EX2's screen unit has no mobile data of its own.

FeatureWhat it doesFor
Lock and unlock Only in Park. Unlocking asks for your password or an emailed code every time, emails every owner, and locks again after 2 minutes if no door opens. Everyone
Find the car The car sends a fresh GPS position, shown on a map with its age. Everyone
Keep the car on Keeps the whole car on for 1 to 12 hours, then it goes to sleep as normal. Everyone
Camping mode The car's own quiet stay-online mode, with the screen dimmed to a clock. About 5–6 % of the battery per 12 hours with the aircon off; the aircon keeps running if you leave it on, and then uses far more. Everyone
Camera snapshots A picture from each outside camera, on request from your account. Only the outside cameras, never inside the car. Everyone
Snapshot timeline Instead of one picture at a time: a still from the cameras you choose, as often as every second or as rarely as every ten minutes, sent to your account. It tells you how much data that will use before you switch it on. Everyone Being tested
Charging current and schedule Set the charging current, and a charging schedule for each day of the week. Everyone
Charge limit Set a charge limit from 50 to 100 % for each car. The EX2's software has no such setting yet, so for now the car answers "not available on this car" and tells you so. It starts working the day a head-unit update adds it. Everyone Waiting on the car
Saved car settings Drive mode, regen, comfort and driver-assistance choices saved in your account and put back once each time the car is put into Drive, before it moves. Anything you change on the car after that is left alone. Emergency braking is always left to the car. Everyone
When you park On the car (off unless you turn it on), every time or just for your next park: when you put the car in Park after driving, it starts camping mode by itself so the car stays on and online, and turns the screen off when you get out or lock. Everyone

Dashcam

Our own dashcam app, installed from your account like any other app we host. It needs an EX2 with the 360° cameras, and a USB stick worth having: a slow stick is the one thing that spoils it.

FeatureWhat it doesFor
Records while you drive All four outside cameras at once, 1280×800 at 25 frames a second, in one-minute files with no gaps between them. A power cut loses a second or two, not the clip. Everyone
Watches while parked Lock the car and it keeps watching; unlock it and it goes back to recording the drive. It follows the car rather than the screen, so it carries on with the screen off. Everyone
Speed and place on every clip A subtitle file beside each clip with the time, speed, gear and GPS position once a second, so a clip tells you where you were and how fast. Switch it off if you would rather it did not. Everyone
Looks after the USB stick The oldest clips go first when the stick fills up. If the stick is unplugged, failing, or too slow to keep up, it records to the car's own storage instead and says which it is using, and moves those clips over to the stick later. Everyone
Watch it on the car The live four-camera view, and your clips with a four-up player, on the car's own screen. Everyone
Switched from your account Turn recording and parked watching on or off from the Control page, and see what it is doing now: recording or not, to the stick or to the car, and when it last saved a clip. Everyone

Car status and alerts

What the car reports, on your dashboard and the car's own page.

FeatureWhat it doesFor
Battery and charging Battery %, range, charging or not and how fast, odometer. Everyone

Trips and IRD logbook

Trips are recorded only when location sharing is switched on.

FeatureWhat it doesFor
Automatic trips Every drive recorded: start, finish, distance and route. Everyone
Business or private Mark each trip with a reason, on the car's Drive page or in your account. Everyone
Trip rules Mark trips by themselves: by place, day, time or driver. Everyone
Trip page The route on a map, times, distance and battery used. Everyone
Saved places Home, work, customer sites. Trips are named after them. Everyone

Fleets

A fleet is an account for a business, kept apart from your own cars.

FeatureWhat it doesFor
Many cars, one account Add each car with a code from its screen. Every car's status, version and location in one place. Everyone
Members and roles Add people by email as owner, admin, driver or viewer. Everyone
Drivers and sign-in Each driver gets a PIN and signs in on the car, so trips record who drove. Off, optional or required. Fleets
Required apps Apps installed on every car in the fleet. Fleets
Lock the car's settings Stop drivers removing apps, keep automatic updates on, and put a PIN on the Service page. Fleets
Sharing rules Location, trips, snapshots and car status: off, driver's choice, or required. The car tells the driver. Fleets
Remote control rules Switch remote unlock off for the fleet, or let drivers lock cars from the website. Fleets
Settings per driver Each driver's own saved car settings, put on when they sign in. Fleets Being tested
Remote support When you ask from the car, or say yes on its screen, our staff can connect to help. Every session is logged and shown on the car. Everyone
Diagnostic logs LocalStore's own log, sent hourly, so we can find and fix problems. Kept 30 days. Everyone

API access

For your own spreadsheet, script, reporting or ERP system.

FeatureWhat it doesFor
Account API keys Owners create up to 5 keys in the account. Each one can be revoked at once. Everyone
Read only The API reads your data. It can't change your account or reach a car. Everyone
Cars Every car with its last position and its latest battery, range, odometer, charging and lock status. Everyone
Trips Trips for any dates: times, km, start and end place, business or private, reason and driver. Everyone
Status history One car's battery, range, odometer and charging over time, kept 180 days. Everyone
CSV downloads Logbook, IRD logbook, charging and usage, from the account pages. Everyone

Privacy and your switches

The switches are on the car, in LocalStore's Service page. In a fleet, the fleet's rules can set them.

FeatureWhat it doesFor
Share location Off until you turn it on. Needed for trips, the map and "find the car". Everyone
Allow camera snapshots Off until you turn it on. Only the outside cameras, never inside the car. Everyone
Share car status On unless you turn it off. Feeds the dashboard, alerts, charging and logbook odometer. Everyone
Send diagnostic logs On unless you turn it off. Read only by our staff, deleted after 30 days. Everyone
Your own notifications Each person chooses their own. Nobody is signed up by someone else. Everyone

Coming

Not built yet. We'll list them above once they work on our own car.

FeatureWhat it will doStatus
Live camera view Watch the car's cameras live from your phone. Coming
Sentry clips online Sentry pictures and clips sent to your account, not just kept on the USB stick. Coming
Unlock signed by your phone Unlock commands that only your own phone can create, so our servers can pass them on but never make one. Coming
