Navigation, YouTube, games and the apps your business runs on, installed on your EX2's head unit. Not mirrored from your phone: they run on the car itself. LocalStore installs without taking the dash apart, and you can remove it whenever you like.

You get apps from the stores you already use, or from a USB stick. LocalStore makes your car able to install and run them. We only mark an app as working once it has run on our own EX2.

A logbook that keeps itself
If you claim vehicle costs for your business, IRD accepts a logbook kept for 90 days in a row to set your business-use percentage for the next three years. LocalStore records each trip as you drive. You mark it business or private, then export it.

Questions
How is this different from Android Auto or CarPlay?
Android Auto and CarPlay show a limited set of phone apps on the car's screen, and only while your phone is connected. LocalStore installs apps on the head unit itself, so they run without a phone and you aren't limited to apps built for car mode.
Where do the apps come from?
From the app stores you already use, or from a USB stick. LocalStore makes the head unit able to install and run them. We don't sell apps, and paid apps are still bought from their developers.
Will it affect my warranty?
LocalStore changes software on the head unit, not the systems that drive the car. If your warranty matters to you, check with your dealer before installing. LocalStore and everything it installs can be removed.
What happens if I stop paying?
The paid features switch off. Your car, its screen and the apps you installed keep working, and you can remove LocalStore whenever you like.
What does LocalStore send to you?
Your car's VIN, the LocalStore version and when it last checked in, so updates reach the right car. Location is only sent if you turn on the logbook or tracking.
How much will it cost?
We'll publish prices before launch, and people who've registered hear first. The 14-day trial is free.
